Expressing logical assumptions and possibility







Rephrase the sentences using modal verbs of affirmative/negative logical assumption or possibility:

  1. I'm sure she has given up smoking.
  2. I'm sure she isn't feeling sick now.
  3. Perhaps she was telling the truth.
  4. Perhaps he was too ill to take part in the race.
  5. I'm sure they informed the police about the robbery.
  6. I'm sure he had warned the soldiers about the coming danger.
  7. I'm sure Jenny hasn't been working there that long.
  8. Perhaps he was asleep when we rang.
  9. I'm sure she didn't know about it.
  10. It's possible that Jane has left already.
  11. I have no doubt that he was lying to you.
